I have always loved stories and speaking with so many people in the course of even a week has me hearing stories from people of all ages. As a speaker, I was trained (way back when) to always have a speech or anecdote within easy reach, in my pocket. This one fits perfectly. And when I had this brief encounter, it reminded me of the importance of telling stories and hearing tall tales. (Kudos to you, ‘Grandpa’!)

5yo Girl: Can you make me a shark?

Me:  Sure! Have you ever seen a real shark?

Girl: No, but I saw a shark’s tooth!

Me:  Wow! Where did you see a shark’s tooth?

Girl: It’s my grandpa’s. He told me he pulled it right out of a shark’s mouth!
